Frequently Asked Questions
The questions worth answering before you start.
Pricing, page counts, ownership, hosting, advanced functionality and what happens after launch—here are the things most businesses want to know before beginning a Leafline project.

Pricing
How much will the website cost?
How much does a Leafline website start at?
A standard one-page website starts at $499 CAD. Fixed base pricing runs from 1 through 15 pages. 16+ pages are custom scoped.
Is every page $499?
No. The first page is $499 CAD. Additional standard pages use lower incremental rates:
- Pages 2–5: +$275 each
- Pages 6–10: +$260 each
- Pages 11–15: +$240 each
A standard five-page site has a base price of $1,599 CAD.
Why price by page?
For a standard business website, page count is a practical way to show the base project size before scoping begins. Advanced functionality is separated because two five-page websites can require very different technical work.
What if I need more than 15 pages?
That's a custom project. Leafline uses 15 pages as the top of the automatic public ladder—not as a technical limit.
Is advanced functionality included?
Not automatically. Ecommerce, booking, memberships, portals, CMS collections, databases, integrations, advanced forms and calculators are scoped when required.
Are there hidden fees?
The project scope should separate the base website price, advanced requirements, Managed Hosting & Care and third-party costs where applicable. Domains, payment processing, premium software and unusually high infrastructure usage may create separate external costs.
Pages & Scope
What actually counts as a page?
What does Leafline mean by one page?
A page is a distinct website route with its own main purpose and content structure. Home, About, Services, Pricing and Contact would normally be five pages.
Does every section count as another page?
No. One route can contain many sections. A one-page site can include a hero, services, about, process, FAQ and contact section and still count as one page.
What if I don't know how many pages I need?
That's normal. Tell Leafline what customers need to find and what you want the site to accomplish. The page structure can be worked out during scoping.
Are more pages always better?
No. Enough pages to make the information easy to understand. No extra pages just to make the website look bigger.
Do blog posts, products or CMS items each count as normal pages?
Not automatically. Dynamic records such as posts, products, portfolio entries, listings and team profiles are usually handled through CMS or database architecture and scoped separately.
Can I add more pages later?
Yes. Additional pages and functionality can be added as new project work. A significant expansion may also affect ongoing Managed Hosting & Care.
The Website Build
What comes with a standard Leafline website?
Will it work on phones?
Yes. Standard builds include responsive desktop, tablet and mobile implementation. Mobile is not sold as a separate upgrade.
Can Leafline redesign an existing website?
Yes. Redesigns are scoped around what the new site needs—not simply the number of pages on the old one.
Do standard websites include SEO?
They include basic on-page and technical SEO implementation where applicable: titles, meta descriptions, heading hierarchy, descriptive URLs, internal links, alt-text implementation, indexability and sitemap configuration where supported.
That is a foundation, not a guaranteed ranking or ongoing SEO campaign.
Can you build forms?
Yes. Basic inquiry/contact forms can be included within an approved scope. Conditional logic, multi-step workflows, large file submissions, database writes and custom calculations may require separate scoping.
Do I have to provide all the website content?
You remain responsible for accurate business facts: services, prices, contact details, policies, credentials, hours and product information. Leafline may organize, edit or create website copy when that work is included in the project scope.
What if I don't have enough photos or design assets?
Leafline can identify what is missing. Depending on the project, that may mean using client-provided assets, licensed stock, newly created design assets or separately scoped asset production. Paid external assets should be approved before they become project expenses.
Can Leafline build ecommerce, booking, memberships or portals?
Yes, when scoped for the project. Those systems add technical work and often more ongoing maintenance responsibility, so they're not automatically included in standard page pricing.
After Launch
What happens once the site is live?
Does Leafline host websites?
Leafline-managed websites continue under Managed Hosting & Care after launch.
How much does it cost?
Standard care starts at $55 CAD/month. The final amount depends on the finished Leafline project and the website's ongoing complexity.
What can Managed Hosting & Care include?
Within the approved scope: managed hosting, investigation of ordinary failures, maintenance of existing approved Leafline functionality, platform/configuration upkeep where applicable, support for existing forms/integrations, reasonable backup/restore administration where supported and ordinary hosting-related incident response.
Exact infrastructure capabilities depend on the platform used.
Does the monthly fee include unlimited changes?
No. It maintains the approved website. New pages, redesigns, new functionality, integrations, ecommerce additions and content production are separate work.
Can the monthly amount change later?
Yes, if a paid expansion materially changes the website's value or ongoing technical responsibility. The new care amount is confirmed as part of that expansion.
Are third-party services included?
Not automatically. Domains, payment processing, premium SaaS, paid APIs, premium plugins/services and unusually high storage, bandwidth or database use may remain separate.
Ownership
Who owns the website and domain?
Will I own my domain?
Whenever practical, yes: the business should own and control its own domain. Leafline can help configure it without becoming the domain owner.
Is domain registration included in the website price?
Not automatically. Purchase and renewal costs are separate unless an approved written scope says otherwise.
Will I own the finished website?
After required project payments are completed, the client receives rights to the client-specific final deliverables created for the project, subject to platform limits and third-party licensing.
Hosting platforms, licensed fonts, premium software, plugins, stock media, external services and platform technology may remain governed by their own terms.
Does Leafline own the materials I provide?
No. Client-supplied logos, photos, existing copy, trademarks, product images and proprietary documents remain client materials. The client is responsible for having the rights required to use them.
Can the website be moved somewhere else?
Leafline's direction is to preserve portability where technically possible. Actual migration options depend on the platform and technology used because some systems are more portable than others.
The Process
What happens during the project?
What is the Leafline process?
1. Start — Tell Leafline about the business and the website.
2. Scope — Confirm pages, functionality, content requirements, pricing and ongoing care.
3. Build — Create the site according to the approved scope.
4. Review — Check content, design, functionality and factual accuracy.
5. Launch — Complete final QA, domain connection and publication.
6. Care — Continue with Managed Hosting & Care for Leafline-managed sites.
What's the difference between a revision and a scope change?
A revision changes work already included. A scope change adds or materially changes what Leafline is being asked to build.
Changing wording or replacing an image on an approved page is usually a revision. Adding another page, ecommerce, booking, a portal or a new integration is a scope change and may change the project price.
What does Leafline need from me?
Accurate business information and timely factual review. Depending on the project, Leafline may also need logos, photos, pricing, approved policies, domain cooperation and access to required third-party services.
You don't need to know the technical architecture.
Still Not Sure?
You do not have to solve the website before you contact us.
Know exactly what you need? Great. Only know that the current site isn't good enough—or that the business needs to get online? That's enough too.
Tell Leafline what the business does and what the website should accomplish. The pages, functionality and scope can be worked out from there.
Start with the business. Leafline will structure the website.
